A Voice for Community,
Inclusion and Equality

I am Deirdre Duffy, a social change activist and general election candidate for Fine Gael.As a human rights lawyer, I have worked to promote civil liberties and equality for over 15 years. In 2018 I managed the Together For Yes campaign to repeal the 8th Amendment and previously worked on the campaign for Marriage Equality. I live in Cabra with my partner and two young children.

I have a Batchelor of Law degree from University College Cork and was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2005. I studied a Masters degree in Human Rights and International Criminal Law at the University of Edinburgh and have a Masters degree in Human Rights and Politics from University College Dublin (UCD).

I am running as a General Election candidate for Fine Gael in Dublin Central because: I want to contribute to making Ireland a safer, more equal and kinder society for all of us. I believe that Ireland can be a modern, progressive country based on shared values of equality and fairness.
